Q: Where is your house in relation to downtown Durango?
A: Marshall’s Mountain Lookout is located within the city limits of Durango. We are approximately three to four miles from Main St. and the train depot.
Q: How far is Purgatory Ski Resort from your house? Mesa Verde National Park? La Plata airport?
A: Purgatory Resort is approximately 23 miles from our house. Most ski vacationers stay in Durango and either drive or take the shuttle bus to the slopes. Mesa Verde is approximately 45 miles from Durango and can easily be driven in less than an hour. The La Plata County Airport is 18 miles from our house.
Q: What is the address of the house?

Q: Does your house have a fireplace?
A: Yes, there is a fireplace in the family room that does not burn real wood and is very warm and cozy.
Q: Does your house have a hot tub/Jacuzzi?
A: No, we do not have hot tub or Jacuzzi. However, the master bedroom does have a large bathtub.
Q: What is the maximum occupancy of the house?
A: The house can comfortably sleep eight people. Each of the four bedrooms has a queen-size bed.
Q: Is there a television in the house?
A: On the main floor we have a small, intimate TV room with two over-sized couches.
Q: Do you have cable TV or a satellite dish?
A: Our house is equipped with basic cable (no movie channels).
Q: Does your house have a VCR? Do you have movies?
A: Yes, we have a VCR in the TV room but we do not have movies at the house. There is a Blockbuster in town where you can rent movies.
Q: Is there a stereo? CD player? Tape player?
A: We do have a stereo system in our house, however, we do not have a tape player or CD player.
Q: What time is check-in and check-out?
A: Guests may arrive at the house no earlier than 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. Checkout is at 10 a.m. Late check-out or early check-in may be available if arrangements are made prior to your stay.
Q: What type of supplies does your house have?
A: The house has all the supplies you will need during your stay, including sheets, towels, toilet paper, soap, and laundry detergent.
Q: What type of cooking utensils and dishes does your house have?
A: Our house has all the kitchen supplies you will need, including pots, pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, and coffee mugs. For cooking we have a stove with four burners and a double-oven. In addition, you'll find a coffee maker, toaster, and microwave oven.
Q: What type of condiments does your cabin have?
A: Our house is usually stocked with most ordinary condiments like salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, and some cooking herbs and spices. However, we cannot guarantee we will have everything you may need.
Q: How can I get additional information on Durango and the surrounding area (e.g., hiking trails, ATM’s/banks, medical facilities, grocery stores, places to eat, local trails)?
A: You'll the find answers to most of your questions by using our Helpful Links page to locate other local web sites. Also, our brochure basket at the house contains all sorts of helpful information about places to go and things to see.
Q: Does the house contain a washer and dryer?
A: Yes, we have a full size washer and dryer and proved laundry detergent as well.
Q: Do you allow pets?
A: Although our family loves animals, we do not allow pets in our house under any circumstance.
Q: Does your house have an outdoor grill?
A: At this time we do not have outdoor grill.
Q: Where do I pick up the key for your house?
A: Keys to the house will either be mailed to you or be waiting for you inside the house on the kitchen counter. In the latter situation, the house will be unlocked prior to your arrival.
Q: Can I place long distance calls from the house?
A: Yes, if you have a long distance calling card.
Q: Is there a cleaning service that will clean during my stay?
A: Yes, but please be advised that such services are not included in the price of your rental (of course, cleaning before and after your stay is always included). Please contact:

Q: If I stay longer than a week can I receive mail at your house?
A: Yes, please arrange with us beforehand and we will provide you with a key. The mailbox is located down the street.
Q: Do you allow smoking?
A: No.
Q: What’s the parking situation like?
A: When renting our house, you are entitled to one parking space in the garage. You may park additional vehicles in the driveway or on the street.
